Discovery

We believe much of children’s learning occurs through experiences as they interact with their environment. The classroom setting, with its toys and activities set-ups, are designed to create a learning space where children will have ample opportunities to explore their interests and stimulate their own learning and self-discovery.

  • Designated activity areas: drama area; science discovery table; building area; reading area; free-art table
  • Various curriculum programs and daily routines
Confidence

We are committed to building children’s confidence, and self-esteem by helping them experience regular feelings of achievement as they accomplish various tasks. Our writing time offers such opportunities, introducing them to letters, phonetics, and numbers through assorted work sheets and activities while simultaneously developing their focus and fine motor skills.

  • Daily tracing and writing work sheets and activities
  • Toys and activities designed to develop fine motor skills (e.g. scissors, colouring sheets, beads, stickers, tongs)
  • Personal binders compiling individual worksheets and projects
Social Independence

We focus on developing children’s social and emotional capacities. Children will learn to recognize and share feelings, practice patience, and manage and respect their own emotions, body, and manners, as well as those of others. Teachers facilitate both open and guided discussions to foster individual thinking, expression, and imagination.

  • Learning to wait and take turns
  • Theme-based circle times (e.g. books, songs, felt-stories, puppets)
  • Teacher-guided sharing and directed questions
  • Open-ended discussion
Creativity

We give children the autonomy to explore and express their creativity while respecting given boundaries. Our art projects are designed to let children explore their imagination through a combination of open-ended and structured components. We introduce them to structured guidelines and tools with which they will have the autonomy to experiment.

  • Introduction to diverse arts and craft materials
  • Daily creation projects with basic structured guidelines
  • Free art (e.g. colouring, painting, free-art table, open ended art)
Energy

We encourage children to have fun and be active, providing them with the space and liberty to enjoy themselves and discover their own energy levels. During our outdoor play times, we inspire children to investigate their natural surroundings and engage in advanced gross motor activities.

  • Gross motor activities in playground and with outdoor toys
  • Creative free play in open outdoor space
  • Investigation of and interaction with natural environment
